To Love Is to Resist

Why do we create? To memorialize, express, resist? “To Love Is to Resist” is a critique on the hypocrisy of the American flag as a symbol of courage (red), innocence (white), and justice (blue) as well as a questioning of the role of art students with politics.

“AAa! – Asian American affects Make Me Scream”

A publication dedicated to voicing the Asian American affect – “affect” in reference to affect theory demonstrated in Sara Ahmed’s The Cultural Politics of Emotion. In “AAa!” Asian Americans are defined to be individuals that are ethnically Asian, but nationally American: an identity that often causes cognitive dissonance.

Artist Statement

Is a chapbook exploring the multiplicity of identity, family, and home.  It leverages unconventional poetry and material, to portray the ambiguity of diasporic identities and address affect. Artist Statement encourages readers to not only perceive the trans-parent, but also appreciate the un-understandable.
